UBP Open Books, the open access monograph imprint of the University of Buckingham Press (UBP), has issued a call for submissions on two new series - Business Sustainability and Future of Healthcare.

Business Sustainability

Sustainability is rapidly becoming one of the most important challenges and opportunities for all global businesses. Business survival is inextricably linked to planet health and showing a positive impact on both the environment and society is increasingly being demanded not only by the public but by shareholders and staff within all businesses. This is a topic which continues to generate a huge amount of attention and it is one which UBP is really looking to bring to the fore in 2022 and beyond. Click here for full Call for Submission

Future of Healthcare

Even before the global Covid-19 pandemic, with an increasing population and new challenges, the future of healthcare was a hotly discussed and vital debate happening in countries across the world. However, the once in a century health crisis has escalated and catapulted forward this debate. From funding, dealing with backlogs, protecting against future pandemics to the balance of private and public healthcare and person or medicine centred approaches, the demand for new and approved research into heathcare and public health has never been greater. UBP is currently open for submissions on both the Future of Healthcare and Business Sustainability. Click here for full Call for Submission

In the UK, custom patches are available in various styles including embroidered, PVC, woven, chenille, and leather patches. Each type offers a different appearance and purpose. Embroidered patches provide a classic stitched look, while Custom Patches maker are waterproof and modern. Woven patches allow for fine details, and leather patches offer a premium finish. This variety gives customers the flexibility to choose the best patch style for their branding, fashion, or creative projects.

Motorcycle clubs use biker patches to represent membership and brotherhood among riders. These patches often include a center logo with top and bottom rockers displaying the club name and location. Wearing these patches shows loyalty and respect for the club. They are not simply decorative items but carry deep meaning within biker culture. Members take pride in their patches because they symbolize commitment and shared experiences on the road.

Great to see UBP Open Books opening submissions for two new series—it’s always exciting when publishers create more opportunities for writers and researchers to share their work. Initiatives like this help support fresh ideas and diverse voices in publishing. On a creative note, many literary communities and clubs also use Stitch Patches on bags or jackets to represent their groups and interests.
